Although I am a hopeless comic addict, I have always found Superman quite boring. However, I never really made an effort to find out why exactly. Was it the goofy hair? The lycra tights? The fact that he’s an alien but is still described as a “man”? Maybe. But today I found a very thoughtful article that perfectly explains why Superman will always suck.

As Anthony Burch points out, the problem is neither the hair, nor the costume, it’s the amalgam of arrogant indestructibility and moral absolutism which makes Superman the perfect Republican presidential candidate.
